International Puppet Fringe Festival Announces Its Return in August 2026

The International Puppet Fringe Festival, New York’s only international fringe festival dedicated to puppetry, returns August 12-16, 2026, and will once again feature performances by leading puppet makers and troupes from around the world. Organized by Teatro SEA, Grupo Morán (The Morán Group) and The Clemente Soto Velez Cultural & Education Center, the festival is currently seeking applications from puppeteers and troupes for the 2026 festival, with applications due by January 16, 2026.

The International Puppet Fringe Festival provides a dynamic platform for both established and emerging puppeteers to showcase their work, exchange ideas, and connect with audiences who appreciate the magic and artistry of puppetry. The five-day festival will feature performances representing diverse styles, traditions, and voices from the global puppetry community.

Puppeteers and puppet troupes interested in participating in the 2026 festival are encouraged to submit their applications by January 16, 2026.

This edition of the International Puppet Fringe Festival will highlight and celebrate Women in Puppetry. We especially encourage performances created, directed, or led by women and female-identifying artists to apply.
